31 Days of Halloween - Day 6

Hello folks, and it’s day 6 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 days of Halloween Blog Hop.  All you have to do to take part is to hop through each of the Wicked Blogs that are participating and leave a comment on each project.  All Horrifying Hoppers will receive a Survival Button at the end of the month to proudly post on their blog.

If you’re following the blog hop in order, you’ve arrived here from Teresa’s blog.    If you’ve arrived from elsewhere and you’d like to work your way through all the participating blogs, the blog roll is in the sidebar – just start at the beginning or wherever suits you best

I do love microscope slide mailers.  I lined this one with some paper from my stash and made a closure with a magnet and a brad.  I covered the outside with some velvet paper and ran a peel-off border around the edge.

The skeleton is from a set by De Stampelwinkel.  I stamped it onto tissue paper and painted white acrylic onto the reverse.  While it was drying, I made a Caught in Crystal background ( I used a piece of acetate packaging, alcohol inks in shades of brown and my favourite medium - clear floor polish, now known as Pledge multi-surface wax) . when everything was dry I cut out the stamped skeleton, stuck it to the background with more floor polish (seriously, that stuff is great!)  sandwiched it between two pieces of memory glass and fitted it all into the little frame.  Simples.

I glued a skull charm to the front of the slide mailer while I was at it.

Hope you are enjoying the hop.  Don't forget that Scavenger Items will be hidden randomly on the Wicked Blogs, and are not guaranteed to be available every day. You will have to visit blogs to find them. If you find one, you will email and let us know exactly where it was and your name will go into that scavenger item's drawing. Each person who finds the "hidden" picture will get one entry. The drawing for each scavenger prize will be the day after it was posted and winners will be chosen by random number based on who emailed. you for visiting.  Now, if you’re working your way through the roll, it’s on to Renee.  Bye now!

Amazing, and such tiny details. I've never seen or heard of a slide mailer - but I like what you did with it!

I don't know what a slide mailer is, but this project is beautiful! Love the way you stamped the skeleton on tissue paper and then painted the back with white.

I have slides but did not know there was such a call for slide mailers.

You had me slowing down to read every detail of how you put this together.

Thank you

Fabulously spooky! Adore the slide pendant and that single skull on the cover is just so creepy!
