Warning - picture-heavy blog!
I've been busy over on my Stampin' Up! blog lately (including making You Tube videos - get me!) but I couldn't keep away from the altered art forever! This is mostly made with SU products - paper, colours, stamps and punches are all SU (and the roses are made out of the paper that SU use to pack our orders!) For the rest of it, I'll just let the pictures tell the story.
I 've had this little wooden box for some time so decided I ought to do something with it. |
I took of the hinges - and put them away safely! |
I gave it a coat of Gesso - this will prevent the glue from soaking into the wood later |
I traced the shape onto the patterned paper (it's called Typeset, from Stampin' Up!) |
Then I cut out the pieces I'd need to cover the box. |
This was where I was glade I'd Gesso'd the box - it meant the glue didn't soak into the wood and so I needed less. I used Pinflair bookbinders' glue. |
I sponged on a bit of Cajun Craze ink and a bit of Kroma Crackle medium |
Close up of the crackle. You can also see where I sponged on a bit of cream acrylic paint. |
I mixed Cajun Craze ink with rubbing alcohol in a spritzer and sprayed the paper roses and seam binding |
I sponged som Calypso Coral ink through a Tim Holtz stencil for added interest |
I stamped the dotty heart onto shrink plastic and punched it out. (I used Crisp Canteloupe ink) |
This is how they turned out! |
The sentiment is from the same set. |
Thank you for visiting today - I hope you like the project. I'm entering it in The Mirror Crack'd blog challenge
See you soon,
Keren
(PS - if you want to get hold of any of the Stampin' Up! items I've used, the link to my online shop is at the top of the page!)
