WOYWW - 29 August

Well, my leave is over and it's back to work for me today;  to a new job in a new (temporary) location (our permanent office space isn't ready yet).  It's been a great couple of weeks, I've crafted more than I usually do and I feel nice and relaxed.  I'm counting on the crafting to keep me sane, even if I do have to slow down a bit for a while!

Another reason I'll be blogging a bit less for the next few weeks is because I'm pariticipating in an online course - Andy Skinner's Timeworn Techniques- so most of what I'll be crafting will be practice pieces for the course and not really very interesting to blog!

Anyroad,  it's Wednesday, which means time to hop off around the Blogiverse and have a nosey at everyone's workspace.  Mine is not very inspiring today - I've cleared up a bit.

On the left is the Nestie storage that I was making last week - some of my blog visitors expressed an interest in seeing how it turned out.  Inside it looks something like this -

It works pretty well .  The collection ran to three volumes in the end, plus a number of magnetic folders holding non-nesting dies.  I'm not even mentioning the Sizzix dies!  I am ashamed of myself, I am a die-aholic!  Perhaps I should have a clear-out and offer my unloved dies on Ebay (but I need all of my dies, so perhaps I won't!)

OK, I'm off to Julia's blog and to do some visiting.  Thanks for stopping by!

Great to see that folder - a triumph indeed! A girl can't have enough dies as you never know when you just might need that one:) Happy crafting, hugs Buttons #66

Don't sell your unused dies....as soon as they're gone, you'll need them. Ask me how I know this!! Your 3 volumes is a wonderful collection and very satisfying storage too I should say. Love what you've done with the image in the nesty circle there.

Your die storage turn out great Karen but don’t worry about the number of dies you have. I sorted all mine a while back into a large CD folder and it’s not until you put them all together that you realise just how many you’ve accumulated…….or how much you have actually spent on them.
Enjoy your course.

Happy Crafting!

Super nestie book and I even sent a bloggy friend over here in the week as she was getting into nesties too. Like how you have spaced out the magnetic sheets in strips and I must get a binding machine. Perhaps I'll put one on my Christmas list. Which one do you use?BJ #35 Oh and the tin looks good too, I have a tin just waiting to be altered, how do you do that?

Hi BJ,

Thanks for the kind words! I use a Cinch (I have Version 1 but the new version - the blue one - has a few improvements) but I have used a Bind-It-All in the past - they both have their points but the Cinch is REALLY good at punching the holes. The tin - I gave it a couple of coats of Gesso, painted it brown, then while it was drying splodged some colours of Distress ink onto my craft mat, sprayed it with water and then picked up the colour with some tissue paper. Let it dry, then put white glue all over the tin and stuck the tissue to the tin. Another coat of white glue to seal it and there we are!

Your Nesties book is brilliant. I don't have many so I can keep them in old CD cases that I've added a magnet sheet to. So many cute altered containers on your desk too. Have fun in your class.

Sorry so late. Busy week. Katie #158
